About
BWV 846 is a non-profit initiative dedicated to ensuring that all children can access high-quality music education, regardless of their background or where they live.
The organisation supports children through scholarships, access to music programmes, and partnerships with schools and cultural structures in France and internationally. This includes helping children join choirs such as the International Youth Choir, supporting music education within schools, and making it possible for children to learn, sing, and grow through music.
BWV 846 also acts beyond existing frameworks. Through international projects, the initiative brings music to places where access to music education is limited. This can involve travelling to communities, supporting local teachers, and helping build sustainable musical programmes that continue over time.
Inclusion is central to the work of the organisation. BWV 846 also collaborates with specialists and researchers to develop musical approaches adapted to neurodivergent children, creating spaces where every child can engage with music in a way that respects their individuality.
A supportive voice
BWV 846 is supported by its godmothers, Alice Taglioni and Angela Geremia.
A musician with a long-standing and active relationship to the piano, Alice Taglioni continues to engage with music through performance and creation alongside her work in cinema. For her, music remains a space of expression, learning, and transmission.
Angela Geremia brings a complementary perspective shaped by her background in sociology, education, and the performing arts. Based in New York City, her academic and cultural work reflects a deep interest in the role of music in identity, learning, and personal development, and contributes to the initiative’s international outlook.
By accompanying BWV 846, both godmothers support the initiative’s mission to make access to music education possible for all children.
Want to learn more? Got an idea?
BWV 846 grows through shared initiatives and collective imagination. School projects, community partnerships, new approaches to inclusion, the organisation welcomes ideas and conversations. Many meaningful projects begin with a simple question.
Let’s explore how music can reach more children, together.
Music as a universal right
BWV 846 exists because access to music education should not depend on income, geography, or circumstance. Music is not a luxury, it is a space for expression, confidence, and belonging.
Through scholarships, educational support, and international partnerships, the initiative works toward a future where children can access music education wherever they are. The goal is not only to teach music, but to create opportunities for children to discover their voice and their place within a collective experience.
Every contribution supports long-term access to music for children who might otherwise be excluded from it.
